Ghosts of The Past

Todoroki’s return surprised everyone but, deep down, it was what they wanted the most; a shame they had to have limited contact with Momo and Kyouka due to that, but they didn’t blame the bicolor, it wasn’t his fault if he didn’t get over Yaoyorozu after all.

As months went by, the group of friends already took Shouto back in completely, but they had to split once more for the wedding they would attend overseas.

“Are you sure you don’t want to come along, Todoroki?” Izuku asked at the boarding gate. “Yaoyorozu and Jirou said there’s no problem-”

“I don’t think it’d be appropriate… besides, I wouldn’t bear it to see her again.” The bicolor cut off.

“I see…” Midoriya said slowly. “We’ll meet again in a few days, then.”

Shouto nodded as he watched his friends turn towards the gate. “Guys.” He called one last time. “Send her my thoughts for me.”

The group smiled in understanding.

“Sure thing.” Agreed the greenette.

After a long flight, both the ladies received their friends at the airport; they all ran up to greet them.

“I’m so glad all of you made it! A shame Todoroki really did stay behind…” Momo mentioned as she scanned her surroundings.

Izuku smiled awkwardly. “He really wanted to come, but he was a bit wary…”

“I understand.” The black-haired woman smiled melancholically.

“B-but he sent you his thoughts, Yaoyorozu!” The freckled one stuttered.

The couple of women smiled at the news. “How thoughtful… thank him for me!” Said Momo.

On their way to the hotel, they called two cabs; Izuku, Katsuki, Tenya and Ochako shared one of the cars while Eijirou, Itsuka, Hitoshi and Denki shared the other one; Hanta and Mina got a ride from Momo and Kyouka.

They talked and watched the streets of the big city on the way, it was a different scenario after all. The couple of women walked their friends up to the lobby once at their destination and helped them check in, they all then went up to their respective rooms to rest from the trip. Since they’d stay for a few days, they decided to visit the tourist attractions another time, they still had time for that.

The couples accommodated themselves in separate rooms as Hanta and Mina shared the same room with separate beds. On the next day, they would visit the city and, after a tiring flight, they really needed to recover their energies.

Once in their room, the greenette threw his bag on the floor unceremoniously and hopped straight in bed, pulling his phone out of his pants’ pocket; Katsuki set his bag beside Izuku’s and eyed him curiously.

“Are you already on that phone?” He mocked as he approached.

“I’m talking to Todoroki. I promised to text him, remember?” The freckled one answered as he typed.

The Incubus simply hummed in reply, climbing up on the bed and nesting himself between Izuku’s legs, who caressed his spiky hair with a hand as he typed with the other.

After a short moment, Bakugou grumbled impatiently, winning a mocking smile from his boyfriend, who sent Todoroki one last text message before putting his phone aside and giving his boyfriend his full attention.

“You’re so needy.” The greenette laughed.

“I’m not needy! I just deserve your attention more than that half-and-half.”

Izuku laughed again. “Okay, you got my attention now, what are you gonna do with it?” He said as he raised his hands defensively.

The Incubus eyed him maliciously with a suggestive smile. “Take a guess…”

Katsuki leaned in for a kiss, but Izuku covered his mouth right away and quirked a brow with a mocking smile. “Let’s do that later.”

Bakugou growled, dodging his boyfriend’s hand. “Come on, Izuku! It was a long flight.”

“So we can use this time to relax.“ The greenette said innocently.

“But that’s exactly it!” His partner whined.

“I’ll think about it.”

It wasn’t long, they soon heard Itsuka moaning loudly from the next room, which made Katsuki frown.

“That’s not fair!” He exclaimed to the greenette.

Izuku laughed nervously; he knew his boyfriend got excited pretty easily, they’ve been through it by watching adult films together, maybe due to being an Incubus, but now he fully knew how it’d be hard to contain the “beast”.

“Alright, but just once.” He finally gave in.

“No promises.” He said maliciously, pouncing on the greenette and winning a surprised exclamation from him.

On the next morning, the friends gathered up again for breakfast; Iida and Uraraka didn’t look to be in their best shapes, as everyone noticed.

“You didn’t get to sleep? You look terrible.” Mina commented.

“Thanks, Ashido.” Ochako said sarcastically.

“You may thank Bakugou and Midoriya for that.” Tenya added as he followed his girlfriend onto their table.

The pink one laughed. “I can figure, Katsubaby has always been intense.”

Her comment won perplexed stares from everyone; Izuku, on his end, covered his red face with both hands.

“C-can we not talk about that?!” He asked in a muffled voice.

The group laughed at him.

“Sometimes I feel sorry for Midoriya, I don’t know how he can handle Katsuki.” Mina continued. “You must need to use a lot of burn crea-”

“Seriously…? In front of my sausage?” Shinsou cut off impatiently as he showed the piece of meat on his fork.

“Who are you trying to fool? We heard you and Den last night, too.” The pink one insisted.

The blonde one choked perplexed. “Are we really gonna talk about that on the breakfast table?” Kaminari exclaimed with means of dodging the conversation.

“It was hard to ignore, you know?” Hanta added. “I just went to the bathroom and left Mina in the bedroom, and we had to ‘relieve’ ourselves on our own.”

The purple one dropped his fork on the plate and took a sip of orange juice, losing his appetite completely. Denki, on his end, was mortified to know his friends masturbated at the sound of him having sex with his boyfriend.

“You know, sometimes I ask myself if it’s a good idea…” Katsuki lamented. “Being friends with you guys seems like a lousy choice.”

“Come on, Katsuki! I know you love us.” Ashido said, nudging his shoulder.

After a breakfast under uncalled-for comments, Momo and Kyouka went to get their friends to show them the city.

They visited some tourist attractions and stopped by local stores to buy souvenirs; at the end of the day, they were so tired already they agreed on going back to the hotel, but they still made some good memories.

“Not only you bought the hat, you still have to wear it?” Hanta commented on Denki's United States flag tophat.

“What’s the point of buying it if I’m not gonna wear it?” The blonde retorted.

“That’s why I tried to warn you not to buy it… you look like uncle Sam.”

Kaminari choked, offended by the black-haired man’s comment. “Excuse me?! I’m way more handsome than that old man!” The blonde complained and turned to his boyfriend. “Tell him,Toshi!”

“Well, it is a stupid hat.” He replied monotonously.

“You were supposed to stay on my side!”

“My God…” Hitoshi rolled his eyes, impatient at his partner’s fit.

The guys kept on bickering on the way to the subway station as their friends laughed at the situation.

As they walked by a corner on the streets, they bumped on a freckled man with black locks, who was accompanied by a woman of strawberry blonde hair who grabbed onto his arm firmly; as they spot the group, the couple halted and the man stared curiously until his green eyes fell upon Midoriya.

“Izuku?” He said, surprised.

The greenette widened his eyes; he didn’t recall that face all too well, but he saw it several times on family photo albums.

“Dad…?” He furrowed his brows.

The group started whispering amongst themselves, Hisashi’s companionship herself stared at the situation confusedly. Taking a good look at the woman, Izuku couldn’t help but notice her provocative outfit.

“W-what are you doing here?” His father sounded embarrassed.

“I came to my friends’ wedding… Who’s that?” The greenette turned to his father’s companionship who got nothing out of the situation.

Hisashi gulped. “W-well, this is-”

Look, I don't care if we waste time, as long as you pay me.

The lady’s words shocked all of them; Izuku wasn’t all too good in English, but he understood what she meant by that. The greenette went silent, taking a step behind and turned to his father, waiting for an explanation.

“Oh, come on, son! What do you want me to say? Your mother’s also moving on, isn’t she?”

Izuku paused, something hovered above his mind. “Dad… how long have you been doing this?”

Hisashi went quiet as he searched for the right words, he suddenly saw himself incapable of lying, but his sudden silence turned the truth in.

“What, are you gonna scold me? Wasn’t Inko already dating that ‘Yagi’ guy while we were still married?”

“No…”

“... ‘No’?”

“They started dating after your divorce, mom wouldn’t cheat on you like that…” Izuku mentioned, disappointed.

His father paused, looking from him to his companionship who awaited impatiently.

“Oh, come on! Men have needs. You understand that, don’t you?” He laughed nervously.

“No.” The greenette said plainly.

“What?”

“No, I don’t.” Izuku was miserably trying to control his tone, a shadow casted over his face.

A disturbing silence fell upon them, nobody dared to take action for a few moments until Bakugou opened his mouth.

“So that’s your father… ‘makes sense you never missed him.”

“And who would you be to think you have a right to lecture me?” Hisashi failed to control his tone.

“Does it matter? You should be ashamed of yourself for betraying your family like that.” The Incubus retorted firmly.

A moment of silence went by as Hisashi searched for the words to argue when something came to mind. “Izuku… who even is this guy?”

The group seemed confused at the question.

“Does it matter? Are you trying to imply someth-?”

“Is that… your boyfriend?” Hisashi cut Bakugou off with a shadowy look on his face.

“What if he is?” Izuku said with a shaky voice.

His father scoffed. “I always found it weird the way you like fashion, and now you’re dating a man…? I shouldn’t be surprised.”

Katsuki grabbed his collar and glared at him furiously, balling his fist tightly.

“You’re not the one who should be disappointed!” He hissed morbidly.

“Enough, Kacchan!” The greenette ordered with a nosy voice.

“Izuku?” Katsuki turned to him worriedly, loosening the grip on Hisashi’s shirt.

“Let’s go back.”

The Incubus eyed him with remorse, the first few tears sprouted from his emerald eyes. With a last side-eyed glance at Hisashi, Bakugou finally let go of him and the group parted, everyone stared at the man in disapproval as they walked around and past him.

The train ride followed in silence, nobody knew what to say to comfort Midoriya after that catastrophic scene, Bakugou just caressed his back as the greenette tried to hold back his tears in vain.

Back at the hotel, Momo and Kyouka turned to their friends to tell them goodbye, trying to find the right words at a moment like that.

“So… I guess we’ll see you tomorrow…” Jirou said uncertainly.

Nobody uttered a word; the wedding would still be in a few days so that they could enjoy the trip and get to know a new place before the due date, but now it was no longer certain that they all would meet again until then.

“Midoriya…” Yaoyorozu called him suddenly, pausing to find the right words. “Will you be okay?”

Izuku teared up again; Yaoyorozu didn’t want to push it but, after that scene, she wouldn’t want the greenette to beat himself up over that, he was her friend after all.

“I… I-I-!”

His friends eyed him in pain, Midoriya couldn’t manage to say a coherent sentence.

“I think we better go up, Izuku needs some time.” Bakugou announced.

The group nodded.

“Sure, tell us if you need anything.” Eijirou offered.

“We’ll see you guys later.” Was the last thing Katsuki said as goodbye.

They left their friends at the lobby as they went up to their room and, finally, isolated in the comfort of each other’s company, Izuku broke down, crying everything he’s been holding throughout the way; his partner didn’t hesitate to take him in his arms, where he buried his freckled face in his chest and started to sob, and there they stood until Izuku’s tears ran out.
