Life is a Party

Izuku woke up with Katsuki kissing his freckled face and caressing his body, his emerald eyes lazily opened up to the real world; he still felt exhausted.

“Good morning, baby.” His boyfriend greeted in a whisper when he noticed the greenette was awake.

“Kacchan…”

The Incubus straightened the locks of green hair on his bangs and eyed him lovingly. “Are you ready to get up?”

Izuku rubbed the sleep off his eyes before replying. “I guess I need to get this over with already…” He grumbled as he sat up in bed.

Before he could move, Bakugou grabbed his shoulder from behind, forcing him in place. “Are you really ready to get up?” The cupid insisted.

“Weeping in bed won’t solve anything, right…?” Izuku said as he dodged his touch and got up on his feet. “Besides, we have a wedding to attend this weekend.”

Bakugou furrowed his brows impatiently. “Didn’t they already make it clear? You’re not obligated to go.”

“I know, but it was the one reason that brought us here…”

His partner sighed heavily and stood alongside him, approaching him and holding his freckled face. “Izuku… this is not just about the wedding anymore, you need to understand that you're important too, Kyouka and Yaoyorozu can agree. But don't worry, if you don't go, I'll stay here with you.”

“Kacchan-”

“Hey, do you really think I'll leave you by yourself to go have fun with our friends?” Katsuki scolded, cutting him off.

The greenette paused. “Thank you.” He mumbled.

“Of course.” Bakugou replied with a quick kiss on his lips. “Now go get dressed.”

Izuku nodded obediently and went to the bathroom to get ready for the day while Katsuki made the bed. Just as he finished the task, he heard persistent knocks on the front door; he impatiently went to answer his friends right after.

“Hi, Katsubro!” Kirishima greeted.

“Terrible timing.” The blonde grumbled in response.

“How's Midoriya?” Mina asked him curiously, ignoring the cupid's comment.

Bakugou held his nose bridge and sighed annoyed, letting the group in right after; he noticed he should update them on the situation after all, even that against his will.

They all sat down slowly and uncertainly, nobody said a thing until Katsuki closed the door and opened his mouth. “Hisashi called him last night.” He said bluntly to the shock of the group.

“And how is he doing?!” Uraraka asked, perplexed.

“As well as he can manage, I guess. I blocked Hisashi's number and hope he doesn't bother us again until the end of the trip; at the moment, it'd be best if we tried to cheer Izuku up some more.”

“Leave it to us, Katsuki!” Denki pointed his thumb up in a “positive” sign, the others nodded determinedly.

“Right. I'll go check on him, stay here.” The Incubus announced as he went up to the bedroom door.

The greenette was exiting the bathroom when he walked in; they exchanged intense stares as Bakugou closed the door behind him.

“Where were you?” Izuku finally asked.

“Just went to answer the door.” He shrugged.

“They're here again?” The small one smiled tiredly.

“They're worried about you, you should know that. We all are.”

The greenette lowered his gaze with a warm smile, feeling grateful for having friends like his own.

“Wanna go have breakfast?” Katsuki invited.

“Sure… I just need to do something first.”

“Will you call your mother?”

Izuku nodded slowly.

Bakugou wouldn't speak up against it; even though he called her the previous night, he knew Inko should be suffering a lot more than her son after finding out the truth about Hisashi, and he worried about her too.

“Alright, I'll be waiting in the living room.” He announced as he turned to the door.

“Sure, I’ll be right there!” The greenette soon snatched his phone from the nightstand and selected Inko's phone number just as Kacchan left, soon after, she picked up.

Hi, Izuku.” She greeted in a tired tone.

“Hi, mom… I hope I'm not calling too late for you.”

No, no, it's still early. I'm just very tired after-

“I know, I get it.” Her son cut off in a pained tone of voice.

Yeah… And how are you feeling? I heard your father called you last night.

“Oh, so Kacchan told you?”

He did, but it was Toshi who picked up. Thank him for me later.

“Of course.” Izuku smiled with a faint blush on his cheeks. “Well I must confess I was kind of feeling better before he called, but I guess that it didn't bother me as much, it was Kacchan who spoke to him, after all.”

I see. I'm glad he's been treating you so well lately.

“I don't blame him for what happened anymore, Kacchan, on the other hand…”

I know…” Inko giggled awkwardly.

“And what about you? How are you dealing with all this?” Izuku asked her worriedly.

A lot better with the help from you and Toshi, also thank you for calling him.

“I couldn't leave you by yourself after everything…”

I know… Thank you very much.

“Well, I'm glad to know you're feeling better.”

Likewise.

“I gotta go now, my friends are taking me to have breakfast.”

Alright, enjoy your time with them, then.

“Same goes for you and Yagi.”

Of course. Thank you for the call, catch up later?

“Sure! Talk to you later, mom.”

Bye, sweetie.

The greenette then hung up his phone and set it aside, he would no longer worry about any of that for the rest of the day, he would just have fun with his friends and try to forget. He quickly changed clothes and entered the living room where everyone had been waiting with dreadful expressions on their faces. Iida e Uraraka were the first ones to stand.

“Good morning, Midoriya!” The tallest one said in his robotic way.

“How are you feeling?” The brunette asked worriedly.

Izuku smiled tiredly. “I guess… not all that terrible.”

“Oh, good… That's good, right? Could be worse.” The girl said uncertainly.

“Either way, we'll help you get over this.” Iida chopped the air towards him, Uraraka nodded.

“Let's go have breakfast? Kyouka and Yaomomo said they were coming over.” Mina invited, hopping off the couch.

“Mhm!” The greenette agreed joyfully.

They went down to the main lobby, talking and playing in the attempt of cheering Midoriya up, when they exited the elevator, they spotted Momo and Kyouka accompanied by a lady with eyeglasses they didn't see before; they soon heard a high-pitched squeal coming from behind.

“Ah, no kidding!” Mina said joyfully, rushing to hug the lady beside them.

“Aunt Mika!” Denki followed her lead, joining Mina to go hug the new face.

“Oh, no… don't mind us.” Jirou said sarcastically.

They both let go of the lady at the comment, turning to the couple of brides standing by her side; Mika adjusted her glasses with a giggle.

“Jirou, who's that? She looks just like you!” Uraraka asked.

“This here is Mika, my mom.” The rocker girl smiled as she pointed to the lady beside her which waved gleefully.

“Nice to meet you!” Missus Jirou greeted with joy.

Izuku, Tenya, Ochako, Hitoshi and Itsuka bowed in return, the others waved back, expressing how much they missed her.

Jirou's mother? So that means that she also is a…? The greenette wondered as he watched his friends circling Mika with means of catching up and learning more about her.

“Did you come for the wedding, ma'am?” Iida asked her.

“Of course, I would miss it over nothing in this world!” Her comment got her daughter blushing.

“Are we meeting Yaoyorozu's parents as well?” Uraraka asked curiously.

“Oh, they're very busy with work; they had to rearrange their schedule for the ceremony and should only show up on the day.” Momo said awkwardly.

“I can't wait to meet them!” The brunette said cheerfully.

“I guess we can catch up during breakfast. Let's go eat?” The mother figure invited, they all agreed to it.

The group went on talking throughout the way to the hotel's restaurant and up to the breakfast table, all attention falling upon the new face.

“I can't wait to see you both on the altar, honey!” Mika told her daughter. “I could sing some of my songs at the reception.”

“You're a musician?” Izuku asked her curiously.

“Oh, that was long ago, I'm retired.” Said missus Jirou.

“Thanks, mom, but I thought you should keep anonymous. If someone recognizes you on the stage, they won't leave you alone.” Kyouka quirked a brow.

“Why, I can do this one special thing for my only daughter. Besides, it's a ceremony for family and friends only, there shouldn't be a problem.” Mika reasoned.

“Did you forget about the waiters and musicians we hired for the reception? What if-?”

“Don't be so lame, Kyouka! I know you worry, but we have to enjoy this moment!” Jirou's mother cut her off and stood from her place on the table with a confident pose. “Let's have a wedding that's worthy of Rock!” The group of friends agreed with the mother figure's enthusiasm, Kyouka, however, was red in the face.

“Mom! You're driving too much attention to yourself; please sit!” Her daughter hissed.

“No need for that, sweetie, they must not understand us anyway.” Mika reasoned, referring to the other guests with puzzled stares at her direction.

“That's not the problem.” Kyouka lowered her face, embarrassed.

Missus Jirou giggled and, finally, sat down. “You really don't like to stand out, huh? That's why you decided not to work with music like me and your father.” Mika mentioned as she messed her daughter's hair affectionately.

“You're pretty pumped!” Uraraka said in admiration, her boyfriend nodded in agreement.

“And what about mister Jirou? Will we be able to see him at the wedding?” He cut in.

“Oh, I'm a widow, Kyoutoku passed away long ago.” Mika said with a soft expression.

“I didn't know that, sorry about your loss.” Iida corrected himself.

“No problem, it's really been a long time, we got used to it.” The mother figure mentioned, gazing at her daughter.

The greenette watched their conversation attentively; the more missus Jirou spoke, the more suspicions he had about her, either way, her joy encouraged him to attend his friends' wedding, he almost forgot the reason not to go.

“So, what are the plans for today?” Mika leaned on the table in front of her. “I heard there’s a pool in the hotel, we can go swimming!”

“Did you bring a swimsuit?” Kyouka asked her mother.

“Don’t worry, honey! That’s why I’m wearing a babysuit underneath.” Mika replied matter-of-factly.

“How can you say it like that?” Her daughter smiled awkwardly.

“That’d be a great idea! We can drop by home to get our swimsuits; what do you think, baby?” Yaoyorozu asked her fiancé.

“Do you really think it’s a good idea to go swimming right after eating?” Iida scolded.

“Don’t be a party crasher, Tenya!” Ochako complained, nudging her elbow on his ribs.

Mika laughed funnily. “Is alright, I guess we can rest for a bit to let the food sink in, that will be enough time for you two to go fetch your bikinis.” She said to her daughter and her future wife.

No one spoke up against it, both women then went back home to go fetch the necessary while their friends talked at the hotel’s lobby, catching up and getting to know Jirou’s mother better, soon, Momo and Kyouka were back, they all then put on their swimsuits and headed straight to the pool area.

Ochako had fun playing in the water with the girls as her boyfriend watched from his place on a lounging chair at the poolside.

“Aren't you coming in with us, Tenya?” The brunette called to him.

“I'll wait a little longer to be safe.” The taller one answered as he chopped the air in his usual manner.

“You're unbelievable…” Uraraka smiled impatiently.

Mika laughed at the scene along with the others, her purple eyes then turned to the greenette not far from there; Sero and Denki seemed to be having fun sinking his head in the water. The eldest smiled and approached them.

“Hey, Midoriya.” She called, they stopped what they were doing when they noticed her.

Soon, Izuku was met with a jet of water on his face that missus Jirou squirted with her hand; his green eyes widened as the two other guys failed to hold back their laughter.

“Mom, behave yourself a little.” Kyouka scolded.

Mika giggled as she turned to her daughter. “I couldn't help it.” She sang in return.

“Will you quit bothering him?!” Bakugou exclaimed as he swam up to his boyfriend and took him in his arms. “Come here, I'll protect you, baby.”

“Kacchan! We’re in public!” The greenette exclaimed embarrassedly, trying to free himself from the hug in vain.

“No need to worry so much, we are no longer in Japan.” The Incubus reasoned.

Izuku covered his red face with both hands in the arms of his boyfriend as their friends laughed at him, they soon went quiet and gulped at the threatening glare they received from Katsuki, scolding them silently.

They stayed in the pool until shortly before noon and, for the first time since the beginning of that trip, Izuku was having fun; he almost no longer remembered the reason for his burdens.

They lost themselves in the moment so much they almost forgot about lunch time, only snapping back to reality when they heard the greenette's phone ringing from where he kept his belongings; he searched for his boyfriend's eyes before leaving the pool to answer the call, they both looked worried about what could come out of that. Katsuki wanted to intervene, but it could be something important, so he let Izuku go much against his will, but watched him attentively from afar.

Searching for his towel, Izuku wiped the water from his face and hands so that he could answer the phone and was surprised to see the number on the screen. “Hey, Todoroki.” He greeted.

Good evening, Midoriya… I mean- that was out of habit. I hope I'm not calling at a bad time.

The greenette smiled funnily. “Don’t worry about that.”

Oh, good… I spoke to your mother while you're away since I haven’t gotten much news.

The announcement made Izuku's chest go tight and his mouth dried. “Todoroki, I… am sorry.”

You shouldn't be the one to apologize… I'm sorry you're going through that. I wish I could say something to comfort you, but we both know that words are not enough.” The bicolor's voice was filled with sorrow.

The greenette went silent; after everything he heard about Todoroki's father, he knew his friend was talking out of self experience. Although Enji never cheated on his soulmate, his search for perfection and power got him acting in an abusive way towards his own family.

I feel bad for you guys… Your mother didn't look so well the last time I saw her, I'll drop by her house whenever so that I can help as best as I can.” Shouto continued when he didn't receive an answer.

“You don't have to.” Izuku said slowly.

Of course I have, I owe you that.

“Todoroki…” The freckled one smiled awkwardly. “Thank you.”

It's the least I can do. I just wanted to tell you that me and Yagi will help as we can, I hope that'll tranquilize you enough so that you can enjoy the trip.

“That helps a lot… I can't thank you enough.”

No need, I'm just relieved to know that.

“Mhm! Sorry for the bother… I hope you take good care of her!”

Of course, I also hope you have fun. Catch up later, Midoriya.

“Yeah. See ya, Todoroki!”

Hanging up the device, Izuku put it back down with his belongings alongside the towel and then turned back to the pool with a large smile and a single tear threatening to stream down his face, that was when he noticed Kacchan and missus Jirou talking by the edge with serious expressions on their faces; he found it reasonable to give them privacy, but they both had spot him staring from afar and turned to him, inviting him in with their gazes.

Understanding the subliminal message, Izuku approached slowly; his boyfriend spoke up even before he had a chance to open his mouth. “What did Todoroki want?”

“Oh, he just wanted to tranquilize me… He heard through my mom about… what happened and is taking care of her.”

Katsuki sighed, a bit more relieved. “Good.” He said with an affectionate touch to the other one’s green curls. “I’ll talk to you later, alright?”

Izuku watched confusedly as Kacchan walked away, he then turned back to missus Jirou, noticing they must be up to something. “Is there something wrong?” He asked in concern.

“Well… in a way, yes, although it’s not your fault.”

Izuku gasped. “You know?”

“It was the reason that brought me here.” Mika nodded with a melancholic smile.

“Well, I-”

“Look, Midoriya, I know you need your time and I know you must’ve heard this the whole week.” The older one cut him off. “Everyone must be trying to convince you that you don’t have to attend the wedding if you’re not feeling well to it… but I’m here to do just the contraire."

The greenette eyed her confusedly. “Huh…?”

“I know it must be tough and I have no idea of how much you must be suffering right now but, if there’s one thing I learned while living amongst humans, is that your life is too short to let any chance slip through.”

Izuku stared at her intensely. “So you really are…”

The Succubus laughed amusedly. “How did you know?”

The freckled one smiled awkwardly until he started to think about the words of missus Jirou. “Well, then… I should really go?”

“Don’t get me wrong, I’m not pushing you into anything, I’m just saying it’d be best for you and everyone else that you go have fun with your friends instead of lamenting yourself in a hotel room. Life is a party, and we must enjoy every moment to the fullest… before it’s over.”

Izuku went silent, deep in thought after those words.

“I hope this helps you a little to decide; right now, I guess we should go for lunch, it’s almost time…” Mika spoke up amidst the greenette’s silence before she turned to leave.

“Missus Jirou.” He called, the eldest spun back around to his determined smile. “Let’s have a wedding worthy of Rock!”

Mika smiled in understanding. “That’s what I like to hear.”

I picture Mika having purple eyes under her glasses, Kyoutoku already has black irises and uncle Hori’s BG characters usually have their eyes of the same color as their hair
