The Proposal

“All this for her to go out with her boyfriend…” Mina grumbled from where she floated away from the couple. “It doesn’t look like they’ll part ways so soon.”

“Would you stop complaining? We’re doing this for Katsuki’s own good.” Kyouka scolded.

“But that’s exactly it! We don’t have enough time to-!”

“Hush! Someone’s coming.” Hanta cut off the pink demon as he noticed the bicolor-haired guy approaching the couple.

“Iida, Uraraka! What a surprise seeing you here.” He called.

“Oh, Todoroki!” The brunette replied cheerfully.

“How are you guys? Did you sleep well last night?” Todoroki asked with genuine concern.

They both smiled tiredly in return.

“Yes, Todoroki, we’re fine. In our best shape as always!” Iida laughed.

“Sometimes you ask such weird questions!” Uraraka laughed along with him.

“I see…” The Succubi sweated nervously as the bicolor made an excruciatingly long pause. “I don’t mean to cut into your date, but did you have dinner yet? Anything’s on me.”

“Oh, we don’t want to bother you with that, Todoroki!” Iida said.

“It’s alright, you know that’s not a problem for me.” The bicolor insisted.

“Awe, sometimes you spoil us too much!” Uraraka grumbled, incapable of turning down the offer.

“Well, you’re my friends, after all.” Todoroki smiled brightly, nearly blinding the couple with his shine.

“They’re moving, let’s go!” Hanta called and they all followed the trio to the mall’s food court and watched them eat and catch up for minutes on end.

“Is that guy really gonna get himself in the middle of their date? We won’t get anything like that!” Mina complained as she watched them.

“We have to be patient, we can find out something important when they part ways.” Kyouka said firmly.

At that moment, the bicolor stood.

“Todoroki, leaving already?” Uraraka called.

“Yeah, I got something to do before going back home, I also don’t wanna take more of your time. Enjoy your date.” He said, waving goodbye.

“See you later!” Uraraka said.

“Thank you for dinner!” Iida added.

“He’s moving. Come on, Han!” Denki called with Hanta following right behind.

“Hey! Are you really leaving us here with those two?!” Mina shouted at the boys.

“Someone needs to keep an eye out for them too.” Hanta exclaimed from over his shoulder as Mina kept whining from afar, but they no longer paid attention to her.

They both followed the bicolor into a convenience store where he did some basic shopping, probably enough to cook that night’s dinner, which was weird, given the fact that he just did exactly that with his friends; on his way out of the store, his phone rang and he stopped to answer it.

“Hey, Midoriya.” The Succubi froze at the called out name. “Yeah, it’s just that I met Iida and Uraraka on the way, but I’m coming already… Of course, how could I forget…? Okay, I’ll see you later; until then.”

“Am I the only one finding this way too suspicious?” Denki mentioned, mortified.

“No shit, Sherlock. Come on, let’s go.” Hanta rolled his eyes as he kept following the bicolor, Denki followed after.

From the looks of it, following Todoroki up to his house would take them straight up to Midoriya; Katsuki sure wouldn’t like to know that, but it wasn’t as if the greenette didn’t have a right to it, after all, they both weren’t involved in any way whatsoever.

The Succubi started to find that situation weirder by the moment as they followed the bicolor, it even looked like he was trying to lose them on purpose, could he be…?

They didn’t have time to finish that thought when they lost him from sight and saw themselves in a dead end alleyway.

“What?! How is this possible?!!” Denki whined, Hanta, however, sweated heavily.

“It’s an ambush… how didn’t I notice it before-?”

“That’s what I should be saying…” They both heard a voice from behind and froze. “You’re dumber than I thought.”

They then turned mortified to the bicolor: the pointy ears, fangs, horns and wings that mimicked his bicolored hair and split tail, there was no doubt.

“What…? You are-?!”

“An Incubus? ‘No shit, Sherlock’.” Todoroki cut the blonde off.

Hanta growled impatiently. “We couldn’t smell him from afar, but he could see us this whole time!”

“Hey, who are you? Presidents from the club of obvious?” The bicolor commented unimpressed.

“What are you doing to Midoriya?!” Hanta exclaimed, worked up.

“I’m the one who should be asking what you want with him.” Todoroki questioned them boredly.

“We don’t have time for this. We need a way to find Midoriya, even if it’s the hard way!” Denki mentioned.

The bicolor scoffed. “Do you really think you can defeat me like that?”

“Why not? We’re still two against one!” The blonde shouted.

“You sure? I’m still very strong.” Todoroki said confidently.

“We’re losing time!” Hanta took the lead, pointing the palm of his hand towards the bicolor as poison ivy enacted from it, tying the bicolor up and making him drop the grocery bags on the ground; Todoroki not even struggled, he just stepped with his right foot, making an ice wall that froze Hanta completely and making him letting himself go.

Denki looked from his friend to the bicolor, mortified.

“Are you ready to quit?” Todoroki asked the blonde.

“I have more important things to worry about!” Denki threatened, swiftly descending to the ground and, with a move of his hands, electrocuted the asphalt.

Todoroki jumped and floated in the air to not get hit and, with a move of his left hand, blew a powerful flame towards Denki, who dodged in the last moment.

“Before finishing this, can I ask what you want with Midoriya?” Todoroki said in a warning tone.

“You got it all wrong! We just-!”

“Denki!” They heard a female voice approaching, cutting off the blonde’s speech; they looked up behind to see Kyouka and Mina.

“Hey! What’re you doing here?” Denki asked confusedly.

“Those two went home, so we decided to search for you guys.” The pink demon explained.

“Only didn’t we expect to find you in a situation like this.” The blackie added.

“You really won’t drop it.” Todoroki complained as he blew another fireball at the female Succubi, who dodged in time. “Stay away from my friends!”

There was no time to think, the bicolor was suddenly engulfed by a deafening scream coming from Kyouka; he fell to the ground, dizzy by the attack and covering his sensitive ears that threatened to bleed.

Denki took the chance to stun him with his electric shock as the pink one flew towards Hanta, expelling an acid slime from both her hands that melted the ice in which he was stuck.

“I can’t… lose to you…!” The bicolor stood difficultly. “I can’t let you hurt them-!” He didn’t have time to finish the sentence, poison ivy tying his arms and wings cut off his speech.

“We don’t wanna solve things this way… so why don’t you tell us where Midoriya is?” Hanta asked in a warning tone and trembling from the cold.

“As if I’d let you…!” Todoroki’s body started to heat, burning Hanta’s ivy little by little, which threatened to break completely; even before he could do what he planned next, the bicolor felt a blow on his face and an intoxicating smell that knocked him out.

The bicolor fell on the ground when Hanta let go of him now that he was passed out, then turned to the pink Succubus. “Nice going, Mina. How are we finding Midoriya now?” He complained.

“It’s not like he would tell us anything.” Mina retorted with a shrug. “Come on, let’s search his pockets, we may find an address.”

The group then searched the bicolor’s wallet and phone for any clue that could take them to Midoriya.

“Wooo, platinum card!” Denki mentioned with the wallet in hands to receive a smack on his head from Kyouka.

“Leave it there.” The blackie scolded.

“Guys… he has his home address on his phone.” Mina commented to everyone’s surprise.

“Where?! Let me see it.” Denki pushed Hanta out of the way to check the address that the pink one showed them.

“It’s close by… Let’s go before he awakes.” Hanta said and they all put the bicolor’s belongings back where they found before teleporting.

The Succubi passed through the front door into the huge mansion to check if Midoriya was there, splitting up and searching through different rooms; soon after, Denki called from the living room. “Guys, I found him!”

They all ran up to him to see Midoriya sitting on the couch with his phone in ear; on the TV, a fashion show of a recent collection was on.

“Why is he not picking up?” The greenette grumbled to the device’s screen and sighed. “I’m so hungry…”

Before anyone had time to speak, Denki pulled out his phone to make a call.

“Ei, we found him!” The blonde backed the phone away from his ear as he heard a shocked exclamation on the other end. “Slow down! We’ll text you the address in a bit, and don’t take too long, we have to tell you something… You’ll know when you’re here, just bring Katsuki quickly!” With that, Denki ended the call and sent the said address to the redhead.

They all waited for the two Incubi on the outside of the household and they got there soon after. Eijirou supported Katsuki on his shoulders, he was shaking with another incoming fit.

“Where is he?” The redhead asked anxiously.

“Wait! We need to tell you something important before.” Kyouka warned.

“What’s so important to wait any longer?” Eijirou asked impatiently.

His friends hesitated briefly before Hanta opened his mouth. “Midoriya is… living with an Incubus.”

The other two seemed to be mortified.

“What…?” Katsuki said with fury in his gaze, threatening to break down at any moment.

“He’s not here, but it’s just a matter of time until he’s back… We found that out when he attacked us for following him…” The black-haired one explained.

Eijirou looked worriedly from his friends to Katsuki. “You sure?”

The blonde eyed the ground as he miserably tried to control his emotions with all his strengths. “As if I’d let some extra surpass me.” He said firmly as he let go of his friend’s arms.

“Wait! Are you really sure you want to do this by yourself?” Eijirou called as he saw the blonde shifting into his human shape difficultly.

“I have to do this by myself.” He retorted stubbornly.

“But… in your condition-”

“My condition doesn’t matter, I’ll take it from here. You’ve done enough… thank you for that.” He said at last as he stumbled up to the front door.

His friends eyed him shocked; that was the first time they heard those words coming from his mouth. They all smiled at him, Katsuki was starting to change for the better, as it seemed.

The cupid rang the doorbell and supported himself on the door’s frame to keep himself standing, trying to control his heavy breathing when he heard someone approaching. He couldn’t hold back, right when Izuku opened the door, the first thing he did was throw himself in the arms of his soulmate by reflex, which struggled until falling on the floor with Katsuki upon him. The greenette grumbled and kicked until pushing him away.

“What’re you doing here…? How did you find me?!” Izuku asked with terror and anger in his eyes.

Bakugou paused in the middle of another coming fit from the rejection, which seemed to win over Midoriya’s pity for a moment.

“H-hey…” The greenette called him worriedly.

“Listen… there’s no other way to say this… I know I did you wrong, but remembering what we went through… before everything else, made me realize how I really couldn’t have been worse to you. I’m not here to convince you to change your mind and go back to the company, I just really want to do what’s right and apologize… for everything I did to you.”

A moment of silence dragged by after Katsuki’s speech as Izuku let those words sink in.

“Apologize…? Do you always do that with the people you take to bed, or is that just because I was unfortunate enough to work for you?” He said in spite.

“That too, but not only because of that…” Katsuki paused to sigh. “Like I said: I’m not here to convince you to go back, you have the right to it, but I also realized…”

Izuku waited for him to finish the sentence, but it looked like Katsuki wouldn’t do that so soon.

“‘Realized’ what?” He insisted.

Katsuki hesitated for another moment. “How important you are to me.”

Izuku scoffed. “If you’re here to tell me you only noticed what you lost a bit too late, you should know I don’t believe that. You just want me back in your life because I’m useful for you, isn’t-?”

“Fucking no! That’s not it…!” Katsuki shouted, regretting it soon after when he saw the shocked expression on the small one’s face. “You’re more important to me than that… You’re way more important to me than that… I don’t want to do this just for me, I want a chance to treat you as you deserve. What do you say… Midoriya?”

That name sounded off in his mouth; Izuku himself lowered his gaze, disappointed for being called that way.

“What do you want from me…?” The greenette asked in a pained tone.

“It’s not about what I want from you. Like I said: I just want to treat you well, not just to redeem myself, but also because you’re worth it… much more than that, you’re important. Please let me be a part of your life again…!”

Izuku widened his eyes in surprise and seemed to contemplate it; Bakugou was showing his most emotional side and going down to the point of humiliating himself just to have his forgiveness, something the freckled one would never imagine to see in his life.

“I won’t forgive you that easily… If you want forgiveness, you’ll have to earn it!” The greenette said to the Incubus’ relief.

“That’s all I need.” He couldn’t hold back a smile. “In that case, I want to make an offer.” Bakugou got up from where he sat after the fall and offered his hand to the greenette who took it after a moment of hesitation.

“That’ll depend on what kind.” He said cautiously.

“I want to offer to help you.”

Izuku tilted his head to the side confusedly. “Huh?”

“I want you to go back to your house… You don’t need to worry about a job, food or anything else, I’ll afford everything you want and need.”

“And what do you want in exchange?”

“You have a right to suspect me, but I don’t ask for anything in return.”

The greenette sighed impatiently. “I thank your offer, but I’ll have to refuse it.”

“What…? Why?”

“I don’t like to live on anyone’s favor, I’m just living with my friend for now because I don’t have where to go, but I promised to move back when I get my own job.”

Bakugou stared at him, unsettled. “But that way you won’t be able to work on your field anymore, right…? Will you really just take anything?”

“If I don’t need to live on anyone’s favor, I have to do it.”

The blonde one sighed. “Then I offer to help you until you find something.”

“Why are you pushing it so much? You don’t want me to live with Todoroki, is that it? You don’t even know him!”

“Well…” Katsuki hesitated, that was when Izuku realized what that was about. “Look, you’re already living on that ‘Todoroki’ guy’s favor, aren’t you? Why can’t you take my offer then?”

The greenette scoffed. “How can I know you won’t leave me hanging?”

“You’ll just have to trust me on that.”

Izuku paused and thought about it; he knew he couldn’t trust Bakugou based on past experiences, but this time he felt like the blonde was being honest and, if he left Izuku hanging, he’d just have to resort back to Todoroki or his mother.

“One chance.”

Katsuki smiled softly. “That’s all I need.”

“Whatever…”

“Katsuki!” He heard Eijirou calling from the outside.

“Shit…” The blonde grumbled.

“What is it now?” Izuku asked impatiently.

“Look, I have to go. We'll catch up later, okay?” He said anxiously.

“Sure…” The greenette let out confusedly.

“See you later, Mid- Izuku.” Bakugou corrected himself at the last moment, surprising the small one.

He didn’t even have time to ask if it was okay to call him like that, it was the least he should do, but Bakugou had to get out of there before finding Midoriya’s friend who was already returning home.

Todoroki got there soon after, all beaten up and holding the groceries for dinner.

“I’m home…” He called tiredly.

“Todoroki, welcome back!” Izuku replied excitedly. “It took you some time getting here, is everything okay?”

“I had an unforeseen…” The bicolor mentioned, implying that he didn’t want to talk about the subject.

“In that case, let me cook dinner, this time.” Midoriya offered.

“You don’t have to! I still can do it.” Todoroki tried to pull the bags away from the small one’s reach, but he insisted on taking them from him.

“Todoroki… you do enough already for letting me stay here, you can leave tonight’s dinner on me… Besides, you don’t look in your best shape to cook…”

“Well, this is… not important.”

Izuku laughed as he took the groceries to the kitchen. “It’s alright if you don’t wanna talk about it, just be careful out there, will ya?”

The bicolor hesitated and followed him with one thing in mind.

“Hey, Midoriya… did someone show up here, by any chance?”

The question caught him off-guard. “Well… how do you know that?”

“Who was it?” Todoroki asked worriedly.

“My old boss…” The small one confessed to the bicolor’s shock. “You don’t have to worry, okay…? It may sound weird what I’m about to say, but he just wanted to apologize.”

Todoroki looked confused and, at the same time, relieved. “Apologize?” He repeated.

“Yes… I don’t know if I can forgive him, but he promised to try and make it up for me.”

“Are you sure you’ll let him get close, Midoriya? I mean… you see what he did to you once.”

“I know… but, in a way, this time I believe him.”

“Maybe he just knows how to manipulate people to do what he wants.” The bicolor grumbled.

“Todoroki, I know you worry about me, but sometimes you have to let me make my own decisions.” Izuku laughed.

“I’m just trying to prevent you from getting disappointed a second time.”

“I know, and I thank you for that! But I still believe that people deserve a second chance.”

The bicolor ran out of arguments as the greenette went to prepare dinner. He couldn’t give in more than that, that’s why he couldn’t protect Midoriya beyond what his over generosity allowed.

Todoroki always knew there was more to that Bakugou guy than what meets the eye, and he was right after all; he just wanted to protect his friend and now he had to do everything to ruin the Incubus’ plans before he took advantage of Midoriya yet again.
